just some words

so today was just an ordinary day - played with the girls, colored, watched zandkaastel (a dutch show about a sandcastle), made houses out of building blocks, prepared lunch for the girls (which is pretty easy because it's the same thing every day - a bottle for annebelle and broodje met pindakaas (bread and peanut butter) for beau), i played some piano, they took naps, we played some more, and then i made dinner. nothing too spectacular to really mention in a blog post. but it is definitely weird to think that right now this just feels like any other day, but in the future i may look back on days like this and swim in the memory of these just another day(s). sometimes it's unfortunate how things work like that - how you never really know what you have or the sanctity of what you're experiencing until it's gone or time has passed. it does leave room for regret, but it also gives you the most wonderful memories, sometimes of things or days (like today) that you never really appreciated but now have so much love for.

completely different topic but... as many of you may know, i am a pinterest addict. i really should sign myself up for a class to quit, but what fun would that be?! i wouldn't be the baker, chef, diy-er, cute picture lover, and fashionista (hah! you can always find me in a pair of jeans and a t shirt - not quite the fashionista per say) that i am today without this lovely website. my favorite part about the website other than the recipes of course  are the quotes. i just love a good quote. especially one that relates to you at that certain time.

here are a few of my favorites at the moment. maybe some of them will relate to you as well!

"the past, i think, has helped me appreciate the present, and i don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future." -audrey hepburn

"surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher." -oprah winfrey

"i love when you look at someone with a smile on your face, and they break into a smile back at you, not because they know why you're smiling, but because you're happy, and that's enough to make them happy."

"too many people undervalue what they are, and overvalue what they're not."

"what matters most is how well you walk through the fire." -charles bukowski

i truly hope at least one of these quotes relates to your situation or the point you are at in your life, because a good quote is a good reminder/motivator that you are not alone, and there's someone out there who knows what you're going through and that everything will be okay.

xoxo
