i finally tried making overnight oats in a jar.... and you know what???
i don't know what all the hype is about (but shhhhhh!! don't tell anyone i said so)
they weren't bad or gross or anything. in fact, if i had to i would probably make it again, but i'd much rather choose to devour a scrumptious smoothie or fluffy eggs and salsa for breakfast.
anyways... if you'd like to try this new take on a very old fashioned breakfast food, be my guest! let me know your thoughts on it too! :)
here's the recipe:
oats in a jar
ingredients:
- 1/4 cup uncooked oats
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or whatever milk you prefer)
- 1/2 cup greek yogurt
- 1/2 a cut up banana
- and then whatever other toppings you'd like in your oats! (ex. peanut butter, chia seeds, almonds..)
directions:
- combine all of the ingredients in a jar (i used an empty peanut butter jar) and mix it all together. then let sit in the fridge overnight.
- the recipe i used suggested eating it cold - which i did (maybe that's why i didn't like it so much?) but you can also heat it up in the microwave!
hope you enjoy :)
xoxo
